Information Design, The Guardian and Grafik

Grafiks feature this month was on information design. One area I'm interested in is publication design (newspapers, magazines etc.) and something that really caught my eye was the article on the Guardian. I have always admired the Guardian's modern, yet informative layout and style so it was interesting reading about how fast the information design team have to work to turn written words into easy to digest graphics. This is something I'm working on introducing into Leeds Student being design editor.

The graphics turn quite complex topics and statistics into basic geometry that can be looked at and understood quickly but also then be looked into further by looking at the details of the diagrams.
