Live Lounge 4 CD Case

A short post today just to show you the importance of a sharp graphics eye.

On the back of the Live Lounge 4 CD case, the text "disk two" uses the number '0' instead of the alphabetical character 'o'. Although a small mistake, it misbalances the word itself and just looks odd. The zero character is much more elongated than the 'o' causing this misbalance in a typeface which is very rounded and with fairly wide characters.

A graphic designer must have looked at this cover many many times before it went out to print so how did this mistake slip through? This shows that a break from your work, or getting someone else, graphically minded or not, to have look at it helps you spot the mistakes that you wouldn't normally see. Spending hours on one image can make the obvious pass you by.
