I love this film, and I think what makes me love it even more is the attention to the illustrative sections put in between sections of the film to show what "day" it is. It subtly changes from a blossoming warm scene at the beginning of the relationship, to cold and grey by day 500. It's a brilliant way of showing the change in the story, the relationship, and as a pointer to the mood of that section of the footage as it changes throughout the film, and that is all communicated very simply through choice of colour and the state of the dominant tree illustration.
I also really like the choice of typeface, it's very neutral and not detracting from the story or illustrations, yet it's not the average Helvetica or equally recognisable and used everywhere sans serif that is usually used by design concious films/stores etc. to look trendy. Not sure what the type is but I'd love to know.
Generally, I think these were amazingly well thought out and run brilliantly parallel to the story and changing relationship. I'm glad film has seen that design can add a really interesting element to moving picture and can help the clarity of a story. The animated 'slides' and title sequence were designed by Imaginary Forces.
